USEFUL TIPS

Clothes

There is no strict dress code for tourists in Qatar: on the territory of the hotel you can dress in the same way as in other resorts. In accordance with local rules, when visiting museums and other public institutions, all guests are recommended to choose clothes that cover shoulders and knees. Plus, this way you’re sure not to get sunburned.

Dress code for restaurants

Flip-flops, shorts-Bermudas, tank tops may not be allowed in hotel restaurants for dinner. Summer pants or jeans, shirt or polo shirt are mandatory for men, dresses, skirts or pants for ladies. Short shorts, pareos and other openly beachwear are prohibited.

Alcohol

Most restaurants and hotels sell alcohol. But it is strictly forbidden to take alcohol outside these establishments and drink it in public places.
The same rule applies to smoking.

Other

Airports, police stations, military facilities, and mosque interiors may not be photographed. It is also forbidden to photograph local residents and clergy without their permission. If you violate this rule, you may face serious penalties up to imprisonment.

Friday is a day off in the country and many places and establishments are not open. Therefore, take this point into account when making plans for the day.

It is not recommended to take euros with you, it can be exchanged only in specialized exchange offices. You can exchange currency in banks and private offices.
