Clothes
It is recommended to wear light cotton clothing and a hat. For women traveling to the city without a male escort, we recommend being more conservative in your choice of clothing.
Tip
The tip system applies to waiters in bars and restaurants, hotel maids and porters, cab drivers and tour guides and amounts to 5-10% of the order value.
Tipping is not mandatory, but if the customer is satisfied with the service, tipping is a sign of good manners.
Water
Drinking tap water (it is better to use boiled or bottled water for brushing teeth and washing fruit) is not recommended. Wash fruits and vegetables with bottled water.
Other
When swimming in the sea, do not touch coral to avoid burns or allergic reactions. Do not swim in the sea after sunset. It is also not recommended to feed fish and other marine animals.
It is forbidden by the law of ARE to export sea corals and other specimens of flora and fauna. Otherwise you will be fined up to 1000 USD.
Avoid excessive exposure to the sun, take sunscreen and sunglasses with you.
Do not leave children unattended at the beach, pool, water slides and amusement rides. Also do not trust strangers. Very often on the street, in hotels, in stores, tourists are approached by strangers with offers to visit this or that institution, store, presentation of a new hotel. Refuse these people or consult your guide.
In every hotel in Egypt for the loss of a bracelet, as well as for the loss or damage of keys (to the room or safe) or towel cards, tourists are fined from 20 USD to 150 USD (depending on the hotel policy).
Hotels are not responsible for your valuables and money, so use a safe (most hotels have a safe in the room). Please refer to the instructions left on the bedside table for instructions on how to use the safe.
Do not violate safety rules set by airlines, transportation organizations, hotels, and local authorities.
