INSTRUCTIONS FOR ONLINE PERSONAL DATA DECLARATION FOR ENTRY INTO VIETNAM (Applicable to foreign citizens)

From 22.06.2026, a new requirement has come into effect: all foreign citizens entering Vietnam through international airports in Vietnam are required to complete an online personal data declaration before passing through immigration control.

It is recommended to complete the declaration in advance before departure to speed up border clearance.

If necessary, the declaration can also be completed upon arrival at the airport.

Step 1: Access the Declaration System

  • Visit the online declaration website (via mobile phone or computer)
  • Select the section: “Create & Submit Pre-arrival Information”

Step 2: Enter Personal Information

Please fill in the following details:

  • Expected date of arrival
  • Full name (IN CAPITAL LETTERS, without diacritics)
  • Date of birth
  • Nationality
  • Gender

Step 3: Upload Passport Photo (if available)

  • Upload a photo of the passport information page

The system will automatically recognize the data (this will speed up the process)

Step 4: Enter Passport Details

  • Passport number
  • Date of issue
  • Expiry date

Step 5: Visa / Purpose of Entry Information

  • Select the visa type or purpose of travel (tourism, visit, etc.)
  • Visa number: → Enter the number (for e-visa or sticker visa), If visa-free entry: enter 0 or N/A
  • Visa issue date: → For e-visa — enter the date, If visa-free entry: enter the arrival date
  • Visa validity: → For e-visa — enter the date, If visa-free entry: enter the departure date (or within the visa-free stay period)
  • Place of issue: → Enter: Visa exemption(if visa-free regime applies)

Step 6: Travel Information

  • Flight number
  • Arrival airport (e.g., Tan Son Nhat)
  • Address of stay in Vietnam

Step 7: Confirmation and Submission

  • Tick the box confirming that you have read the information
  • Check all details carefully
  • Click “Submit”

Step 8: Save the Code

  • After submission, you will receive a QR code or application registration number
  •  Use the section “Search & Update Declaration” to check or edit your information if necessary

IMPORTANT

  • It is strongly recommended to complete the declaration in advance before departure
  • All information must exactly match the passport details
  • Errors may result in additional questions at the border
